Recruitment Process

365 Recruitment

365 recruitment is a model allowing individual chapters to recruit men on campus year round. The focus with 365 recruitment is based more on building relationships before an invitation to join is extended.  The theory behind this is, people join people.  The more people you  get to know in the fraternity community through interactions on campus, the better the chance you have of finding the chapter that you fit and that best fits for you.  New members are the key to a successful future for any fraternity because it is the beginning of the lifetime commitment to the values of the organization.  Be sure to take the time to meet chapters so that you are able to make the best decision for you.

Eligibility Requirements

Fraternity membership is limited to all enrolled male students of Texas State University.  Non-student Faculty, Staff or Community residents may be initiated as “honorary initiates” at the discretion of the National Headquarters.

Current enrolled students with 12 college credit hours or more must have a cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher to accept an invitation of membership from a fraternity.  Current enrolled students with fewer than 12 college credit hours must have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.7 or higher to accept an invitation of membership from a fraternity.

No man admitted conditionally or on contract with Texas State University, nor any man currently on academic probation with Texas State University, shall be permitted to join an IFC Fraternity, regardless of the Fraternity’s prior academic record, until that man becomes in academic good standing.

When Can I Receive A Bid For Membership?

For fall 2018 all newly enrolled freshman are not able to receive a bid for membership until they have earned 12 "on-campus" college credits.  This is to ensure all new students have the opportunity to get settled into college life and meet as many members of the fraternity community as possible.  Going into the spring 2019 semester, all students who meet the requirements set by the IFC Constitution and By-Laws and who are registered for classes in spring 2019 are eligible to receive a bid at any point once grade verification has been completed by the Greek Affairs staff.
